Will
eating soy foods decrease my thyroid function and energy level?
There
is some concern about the consumption of soy foods potentially decreasing
thyroid function but not an overly large concern. One way to check this
would be to ask your doctor to evaluate your thyroid function level
by some routine blood tests. I had this done one year after changing
my diet to include soy foods on a daily basis and my doctor did increase
my synthroid medication level up a tiny bit. I have not needed a change
in dosage since 1996. I have more energy than I know what to do with.
Hope
this info is helpful. It is not medical advise, of course. Please discuss
these concerns with your personal health care professionals.
