Q - Should I drink wheatgrass juice to help fight my cancer? Over the years, I have received several inquiries from people asking my opinion about the cancer-fighting benefit of drinking wheat grass juice. I have looked and looked but never found much information available to back up the long-standing popularity of this juice. I have tried it several times, but I am simply unable to tolerate the taste of it. I have searched the Internet far and wide to see if I could uncover any research about its effects on the cancer process with little to no results. Even a promoter of wheat grass, Ann Wigmore, has nothing listed in her list of medical resources on her web site to this effect. I have not read any of her books but see on her web sites that wheat grass is only one part of her many recommendations for a healthy lifestyle. Here is a web site that has analyzed the nutritional content of wheat grass juice and compared it to a comparable amount of spinach juice. It makes for interesting reading. Scroll down to the bottom to read the article about wheat grass. http://www.dolenutrition.com/Newsletter/DNI_NL20050829.htm I can certainly understand your reasons for looking at all your options, and I commend you for doing so. I could find nothing that indicated wheat grass might be potentially harmful, so if you choose to consume it, my recommendation would be to consume it as part of an overall ultra-healthy diet and lifestyle as I describe in my book. Everyone's recovery path looks a bit different. The best advice I can give is to inquire carefully about which *ingredients* you want to incorporate into your *healing recipe*, and then believe in them with 1000% conviction. Remember also that recovery paths are not static but evolve over time. What feels right in your heart right now may not need to be there in the future. That is okay. Your path is yours alone and will be unique just as you are! :-) I send you my best wishes for health, healing, and hope!
