What are some other great websites for great-tasting vegetarian recipes?
A search using any search engine will turn up so many sites with great tasting recipes that you would have to live to be 1000 years old to try them all! Here are a few recommended by the American Dietetic Association's Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group to get started.
Important Note! - Not all vegetarian recipes are low in fat or even made with healthy fats or other ingredients. I cannot possibly check each and every recipe on these websites for ingredient usage. Check my Blueberry Corn Muffin Recipe to see how I made a recipe over using healthier ingredients. Have fun experimenting with new recipes!
Food and Health Communications Recipe Database - http://www.foodandhealth.com/recipes.php - another source of great recipes. Although not all are vegetarian, those that include chicken can easily be adapted to use with a *blended family* like mine.
Look at one of my recipes, Crispy Dijon Chicken and Tofu , to see how I often adapt recipes to please both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
When you are traveling and want to find a great vegetarian restaurant, check out http://www.VegDining.com, which provides a list of vegetarian restaurants in cities around the world in addition to offering details about the menus and in some cases even provides mini-reviews. My book, A Dietitian's Cancer Story , provides an entire chapter devoted to eating away from home and still maintaining an anti-cancer diet. If you order A Dietitian's Cancer Story from my order page, I will include a complimentary copy of both my Dining Out Brochure and Chef's Request Card to help you choose the healthiest menu items when eating away from home. (These popular and handy items are a bonus that only those readers who order my book from this website receive!). Relax and enjoy your meal!
