A friend forwarded an lengthy email message to me with frightening information about canola oil. I noticed that you seem to advocate the use of olive or canola oil in your book. Do you have any personal knowledge/opinion about the authenticity of these allegations?
I have been seeing this type of information circulate on the internet for a while now. It is often difficult to separate fact from fiction. However, The Canadian Canola Council has excellent information on this topic on their website. You may also go to this website on Internet hoaxes to read more information on this topic.
I still use both canola oil and olive oil. I use mostly olive oil because it contains helpful phytochemicals in addition to its helpful type of fatty acids.
