Can one eliminate dairy and meat (but not eggs) and still work with your recommended dietary changes?
My suggestion at this time for anyone eliminating any major category of food from their diet such as meats or dairy is to have their whole dietary intake evaluated by a Registered Dietitian (preferably at your own cancer center) to make sure that all necessary components for optimal health are still included in your diet.
No one knows the answer as to which diet is best for any one person in order to reduce the risk of cancer recurrence. It 's that simple and also that complicated. I wish I knew the answers! In the future, perhaps information obtained from The Human Genome Project will permit individual nutritional *prescriptions* based on unique metabolic ( ie genetic) differences.
These questions and answers are intended to be of a general informative nature. Please consult with the Registered Dietitian in your cancer center or your health care provider for nutritional advice that can be individualized to your specific medical condition.
