A breast cancer survivor calling from New Jersey told me the unique combination of both my lengthy experience as a cancer patient and survivor in conjunction with my clinical training as a Registered Dietitian gave her confidence that I would not allow myself to be "steered wrong" about the choices I made for recovering from this latest cancer.  She accurately summarized my approach to recovery this time.  I tried diligently to simultaneously wear both my "patient and clinician hats" as I explored which conventional cancer therapy was right for me along with which "alternative or complementary" therapies might supplement and enhance (not replace) the conventional treatments for my most recent cancer.

I developed this book to give those people interested in an integrated and comprehensive approach for optimizing health after cancer a "jump start" onto that path.  It is precisely what I wish my own cancer center could have had available to give me when I asked "What else can I be doing?"  It gives the details of my own path and journey.  It is a concise  guidebook, not an overwhelming, detailed travel log, nor is it a tightly scheduled itinerary on a tour bus.  You can pick and choose which strategies appeal to you when you are ready to incorporate them into your life.

I wish you all the very best for both optimal health and healing after your cancer diagnosis.  Thank you all for your prayers, best wishes, and confidence in me.
