This recipe gives you a choice of two variations on a traditional dessert recipe from the Middle East.
1/4-cup tahini (sesame seed paste – often used to make hummus)
2 Tbsp. honey
1/3-cup wheat germ
1/3-cup ground flaxseed or sunflower seeds (can grind in a small coffee grinder)
Directions:
Mix all together in a food processor.
Shape into a log and roll in additional ground flax seeds or whole sesame seeds.
Refrigerate then cut into small slices and serve as with fresh dates for a healthy dessert.
These two versions (one with flaxseeds and the other with sunflower seeds) each taste and look different. Serving both of them on a platter with whole dates and other fresh fruit for dessert is a beautiful and healthy way to end a meal with just a touch of sweetness. Enjoy!!
